Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro vs Note 5 Pro is the main highlight of this article. This phone is launched in India today with the two variants. First I will talk everything about the Note 6 Pro. This is the first phone of the company, which is launched with a total of four cameras. I mean dual-camera setup on the front and the dual-camera setup on the rear.
The first variant of this phone is launched in India with the 4 GB of RAM and the 64 GB internal storage. The price of this variant is ₹13,999, which gets around $199. Another variant of this phone is launched with the 6 GB of RAM and the 64 GB internal storage. The price of this variant is ₹15,999, which gets around $225.
The Blue, Black, Red, and Gold color variants are launched for this phone. Now I will talk about the differences of both the phones.
Both the phones are the dual-Sim phone, but you will get Hybrid Sim slots in both. You will have to use the second Sim slot to put the memory card. You will get the 3.5mm jack in both the phones, which is a good thing. The MicroUSB 2.0 is used in both the phones. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear side of this phone.
Both the phones come with the same 4,000 mAh battery but you will get a difference here, which is the Quick-Charging 2.0, which comes in the Note 6 Pro.
Both the phones are same except the Quick-charging 2.0. The New Pro will be charged faster than the original one. Nothing is new here.

If you will look at the design of both the phones then you will first notice the notch design of the phone. The Note 6 Pro comes with the notch design, where Note 5 Pro comes without the notch design. The Notch design of 6 Pro doesn't look that good because of the thick notch. The Nokia X6 comes in the same price with the thin bezels.
The IPS LCD display panels are used in the phones. The Note 5 Pro was launched with the 5.99 Inches large infinity display with the aspect ratio of 18:9 but the new one is launched with the 6.26 Inches notch display, which comes with the aspect ratio of 19:9.
The PPi is same in both the phones, which is 403 PPi but the display resolution is changed now. The 5 Pro was launched with the display resolution of the 1080x2160 Pixels but this new one comes with the resolution of 1080x2280 Pixels. The Corning Gorilla Glass is used in both the phones but the company didn't reveal the version of this Glass.
Both the phones look good for the display but this new one looks better because of the notch design. If you will see the design of both the phones then, the new one looks better but except the notch design, nothing is new in the new phone.
Note 6 Pro vs 5 Pro Processors, Os, and variants-
Both the phones come with the Android 8.1 Oreo. The 5 Pro was famous because of the good processors, so company decided to use the same in this new one. I mean, both the phones are launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Octa-core processors. This is a 14nm technology, which comes with the Adreno 509 GPU.
The maximum clock-speed is 1.8 GHz in both the phones. The two variants are launched for the new one but the old one was launched with the three variants. The 3 GB/32 GB, 4 GB/64 GB, and 6 GB/64 GB internal storage. Both phones memory is expandable up to 256 GB via memory card. The second Sim slot will be used in the phone.
This phone is exactly the same in this segment. You will get the same performance and almost the same battery life in real life because battery, processors, storage, and RAM are unchanged. So if you have the old one then you should ignore this one.
Redmi Note 6 Pro vs 5 Pro the camera details-
The camera setups are the same on the papers. The dual-camera setup is used on the rear sides of both phones. The 12+5 MP camera setup is used in these mobile phones. The 12 MP camera is the main one in both the phones but the new camera aperture is f/1.9 and old one comes with the f/2.2 camera aperture. The pixel size is increased in the phone. Both the phones are capable to record 1080P videos.
The last one was launched with the 20 MP camera sensor but this new one is launched with the 20+2 MP dual-camera setup. The new front camera aperture is f/2.0 but the last phone's camera aperture is f/2.2.
The new one will give you better camera clarity than the last one but the changes would be minor. The low-light photography is enhanced in the new model and you will get a little better camera than the previous one but still, this is not the best camera setup.

If we look at the design of both the phones then you will notice the 6 Pro looks better because of the notch but the rear side is almost similar. The display would be almost the same because the PPi is the same but the 6 Pro comes with the larger display than the 5 Pro because of the notch design.
Both the phones are same if we look at the processing power. The RAM and storage are the same too. The camera setups are almost the same but the new one will give you little better shots than the old one. I am giving the pick to this new phone but I have to say, the 6 Pro is the wrong name for this phone and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Plus suits better on this phone.
